Behind the Scenes

Take a look at how each card is made from start to finish!

Step 1: Pulp recycled office paper.

Step 2: Pour the pulp into a large vat of clean water.

Step 3: Pulp is evenly distributed onto the frame.

Step #4: Bring on the dyes.

Step 5: In between each sheet of cloth are three sheets of wet paper. The papermakers use this giant press to squeeze out excess water before putting the paper out to dry.

Step #6: Dry the paper.

Here's blue dyed paper, drying in the hot sun. Good Paper's fair trade greeting cards provide a sustainable income for these young adults, who are responsible for their younger siblings. Disease, poverty, and the genocide (Rwanda card line) have beaten them down, but they won't give up. And you can help.

Step #7: Stacks on stacks on stacks...of paper!

Step #7: Cut out the pieces. Precision cut: pen and template.

Step #8: Sign the card.

Step #9: Quality control inspection!

Does the wheel spin? Are the words centered? Does it look awesome? (Yes, yes, and yes.)

 Step #10: Packaging.

Each card in its own plastic sleeve, so the paper will be pristine when it gets to you.

Step 11: Ready for purchase! Ready to bring joy to your loved ones!

Your purchase supports the lives of women who carry out every step of this detailed process!  Thank you!
