Our Story

Growing up, I always had a passion to travel the world and to help others.  After going on a few mission trips to third-world countries, and living in South Africa for a summer, my perspective on life changed.  The people I was seeing in the villages, were so full of life and so happy with so little.  They were so appreciative of any purchase I made and I realized how much they truly needed it.  I began to think more about my purchases and tried to help others through what I was buying.  In college, I learned about Fair Trade products.  These products were exactly what I was looking for! 

 

Fast forward ten years to 2016.  I was at the age where I needed to buy greeting cards quite often.  I couldn't stand the thought of spending so much money on something that was essentially meaningless without the words written in it.  So, I found a line of fair trade greeting cards.  I decided these would be the only cards I would purchase from that day on.  I became a wholesaler with the intent of sharing them with family and friends.  In 2017, I started "Lovely to Greet You Cards" deciding I wanted to spread the word about these cards even more by participating in local craft and gift shows.  I did a several shows selling just the greeting cards, but in December 2017, I caught my eye on some fabulous fair trade jewelry.  I thought to myself, why not?  Pretty soon, my booth now included fair trade jewelry in addition to the greeting cards.  In March 2018, the company name changed from "Lovely to Greet You Cards" to "Lovely & Fair."

Slowly, I am working on my dream of running a fair trade online store in addition to being a full time elementary school teacher.  I hope to give gift options to people that will make a BIG difference in the lives of the artisans.
